Video: Sza performs ‘Love Galore’ & ‘The Weekend’ on ‘SNL’

Sza put an exclamation point on her breakout year as the musical guest on last night’s Saturday Night Live.

Following an introduction from host James Franco, the 27-year-old singer kicked off her set with “The Weekend,” the latest single from her Grammy-nominated debut album Ctrl. Accompanied by a woodwind section, complete with flutes and clarinets, and a choir, she put new spin on the so-called ‘thot bop,’ effectively turning it into a hymn about community peen. Count us in!!

Later in the show, she returned to the stage for “Love Galore.” With the choir in tow, she officially premiered the song’s third verse, which she previously teased on Instagram last month. Needless to say, we’ll need that third verse again when we see you on the 22nd, Solana!

SNL is another in a long list of accomplishments for the singer this year.  From the top 3 debut of Ctrl, two platinum-certified singles, a gold-certified album, and FIVE Grammy nominations, including Best New Artist and Best Urban Contemporary Album, the sky is the limit for R&B’s hottest new star.
